The Logic Pro 13.0 AI assistant reportedly cannot be used with the one-time purchase version and requires a subscription to Apple Creator Studio. Japanese is not currently supported, so the assistant operates in English only.
According to the Logic Pro 13.0 release notes, using the AI assistant requires an Apple Creator Studio subscription, a Mac with Apple silicon, and macOS 27 or later. The notes also explain that an Apple Account signed in to iCloud is required, that English is the only supported language, and that usage may be subject to a limit.
According to MacRumors, users who purchased the one-time purchase version of Logic Pro may be unable to use the assistant even after updating to version 13.0. The one-time purchase version costs approximately ¥30,000, and it has been pointed out that using the assistant requires a Creator Studio subscription.
A news release issued at the time of the 27 October launch reportedly described the assistant as a “combination of Apple and third-party models” and did not state that registration for Creator Studio was mandatory. The notes listed requirements including a Mac compatible with Apple Intelligence, macOS 27 Golden Gate or later, and US English only.
Apple's official support documentation explicitly states that the assistant runs on Google Gemini models. Usage resets monthly, and additional purchases may be available in some countries. It also states that Japan is not included among the countries eligible for Creator Studio registration.
The assistant is not expected to be usable in a Japanese-language environment at present, and the timing of Japanese-language support has not been determined. No Creator Studio registration requirement is stated for new features other than the assistant.
