Hiyoshi Shopping District Federation announced that it plans to begin test operation of “Dokankan-kun Point,” an NFC-based infrastructure that allows users to earn points and monitor family members’ safety with a single dedicated tag, in October 2026, followed by the launch of full-scale operations in December 2026.
Hiyoshi Shopping District Federation announced plans for “Dokankan-kun Point,” a multi-generational NFC-based infrastructure, to begin test operation on 1 October 2026 and move to full-scale operations in December of the same year. Users can earn points by shopping at or using member stores, and the system also supports cash top-ups. Points can be used for payments at member stores by simply tapping the dedicated tag.
The monitoring function sends a safety notification email to family members registered in advance when a family member carrying the tag uses a member store. An inactivity alert is generated if the service is not used for 2 days. The annual fee for safety notifications is ¥6,000, and ¥500 worth of points is awarded upon registration.
In addition to monitoring, planned uses include installing patrol tags at community monitoring locations to record time stamps, managing entry and exit records at cram schools and welfare facilities, and managing arrival and departure records. The federation will expand the participating-store network and verify system operation before the launch of full-scale operations while pursuing broader regional cooperation.
After full-scale operations begin, campaigns for monitoring-service registrants will be offered in stages, and cooperation with nearby shopping districts and shopping associations will also be strengthened.
