Paladin EnviroTech is expanding its electronics recycling network in Europe. It acquired and is integrating Dutch company R&L Recycling, also acquired a site in Dublin, Ireland, and is jointly developing the ADR process as Recapture, advancing the expansion of its European sites and the introduction of new technology.
Paladin EnviroTech is expanding its European footprint by acquiring and integrating R&L Recycling, an electronics recycling operator in Helmond, southern Netherlands. The company aims to rebuild the local brand and strengthen marketing, while expanding a recycling network centred on the Netherlands.
Following the acquisition, the company's CEO, Brian Diesselhorst, has been learning about R&L, its employees and its market, while strengthening operations under the Paladin brand. The company expects growth through higher volumes handled in the European market and the acquisition of large contracts, using the Helmond site to improve profitability.
He noted that demand for recycling capacity is high in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands, where small and medium-sized companies continue to operate. The concentration of data centres and expansion of technology companies are also expected to support the company's European strategy.
As part of efforts to accelerate its European expansion, the acquisition of an ICT business in Dublin was completed in February. The site, which is to become Ireland's first R2-certified ITAD provider, will strengthen customer support capabilities in Dublin and aims to become a central data-centre hub alongside Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
