Gunze has announced plans to increase production of filter nets and other components used in semiconductor cleaning processes. The company will add a new building by expanding part of its own plant in Konan and is proceeding with capital investment. No specific production increase has been disclosed at this stage, and demand trends remain subject to future disclosures.
The new building has a total floor area of approximately 5,900 square metres and was completed in August. The current production structure and scale of the planned increase have not yet been disclosed. The investment amounts to ¥2.2 billion for the building alone.
The products concerned are components used in semiconductor cleaning operations. The expansion of applications, including physical AI and drones, is cited as a factor behind the expected increase in demand. The aim is to establish a supply structure in response to changes in the demand environment.
President Okataka (岡高広)指出 that semiconductor applications are becoming more diverse as demand changes. The details of future supply and demand trends and production expansion plans remain subject to forthcoming disclosures.
