Toyoda Gosei announced that it will build a new plant at Bidkin Industrial Park in Maharashtra, western India. This will be the company’s eighth new site in India, with investment totaling approximately ¥9.3 billion. Operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2029.
The new plant will have a land area of approximately 78,400 square meters and a building area of approximately 29,200 square meters. It will introduce advanced painting-process technology to expand production of large interior and exterior components. Production lines will focus mainly on components such as bumpers and instrument panels, while also manufacturing safety equipment such as airbags.
In addition to a painting process designed to achieve high quality, the plant will be equipped with large-scale molding machinery capable of automatically changing molds and a production management system using IoT. The company also plans to promote smart automation by combining sequenced delivery with collaborative robots and karakuri-based automation techniques.
