ADEKA will expand the photoacid generator production facilities at its Chiba Plant with an investment of approximately ¥1 billion, increasing capacity to approximately twice the current level. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2027, with commercial operations targeted to start in September 2028. In addition, the Kashima Chemicals Plant is scheduled to begin commercial operations in April 2028 at a dedicated plant for metal compounds for MOR.
On 20 August, ADEKA announced plans to approximately double the production capacity of its photoacid generator production line for photoresists at the Chiba Plant in Sodegaura, Chiba Prefecture, from the current level. The total investment will be approximately ¥1 billion, and a new line will be added inside an existing building.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2027, with completion in February 2028 and commercial operations expected to begin in September of the same year. This will increase the company’s supply capacity for EUV photoacid generators in the advanced lithography field and enable it to meet rising demand.
At the same time, ADEKA plans to build and operate a dedicated plant for metal compounds for MOR at the Kashima Chemicals Plant in Kamisu, Ibaraki Prefecture, with commercial operations targeted to begin in April 2028. This will establish a structure capable of serving both chemically amplified resists and metal oxide resists.
The investment and construction of both facilities will be carried out two years ahead of the previous plan, with the company aiming to expand its business by strengthening its materials supply structure for EUV and high-NA EUV applications.
