Two companies have been selected to participate in Fukuoka Prefecture NEXT Unicorn Development Spark Programme 2026: a University of Tokyo-based AI company specialising in sleep analysis and a Kyushu University-based diagnostic platform company.
CIC Catalyst APAC and the Global Connect Fukuoka Network have selected 2 companies to participate in Fukuoka Prefecture NEXT Unicorn Development Spark Programme 2026.
The programme targets biotechnology and medical startups in Fukuoka Prefecture, providing domestic training and networking opportunities in Boston, US. Its objective is to support overseas fundraising and business expansion.
The selected companies are one developing a business based on University of Tokyo-originated sleep-analysis AI and its own medical-device body-movement sensor, and another developing a Kyushu University-originated deep-tech diagnostic platform. Both aim to drive medical innovation and global expansion through sleep data.
In addition to domestic training, the programme includes networking and pitching opportunities in Boston, US. It is expected to create opportunities to strengthen business strategies and expand overseas.
