Hanamaki City has designated Ame Kaze Taiyo,Inc. as a corporation supporting specific residential arrangements. From Hanamaki, the company’s founding location, Ame Kaze Taiyo,Inc. will work with the city to promote dual-region residency and make use of people connected to the region. The initiative was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Leading Project for the Implementation of Dual-Region Residency and is the first such case in Iwate Prefecture. Ame Kaze Taiyo,Inc. has previously received designations in Bandai Town and Susami Town, making this the third case. The initiative is based on the guidelines in the main text.
The Hanamaki Dual-Region Residency Promotion Consortium, comprising Hanamaki City, Ame Kaze Taiyo,Inc., P-Sapo Tohoku and the Morioka Business Headquarters of East Japan Railway Company, will lead efforts to create and match people connected to the region, centred on HANAMAKI BASE. HANAMAKI BASE is a hub with office, coworking and accommodation facilities, and a guide centre for people connected to the region is also planned.
The initiative will provide free use of the hub, reimburse half of Shinkansen travel costs and conduct promotional activities, subject to participation in contributor activities at least 3 times a year and stays totalling at least 10 days. It aims to achieve local autonomy through stays and strengthen matching through the guide centre for people connected to the region. Further details are being prepared and will be announced separately.
Representative Takahashi Hiroyuki (高橋博之) said the company aims to build a model of local autonomy and connected-community autonomy in Hanamaki, its home region, and considers the initiative in Hanamaki capable of being rolled out nationwide.
