Thales has announced plans to open a defense service center in Japan, saying it will further strengthen collaboration with Japanese customers and partners and support the development of Japan's domestic ecosystem. The group currently has more than 150 employees in Japan across the defense, aerospace and cybersecurity sectors, and the new center will use the company's products and systems infrastructure, which are widely deployed in Japan.
The new center is intended to improve operational performance in the defense sector, support long-term maintenance and servicing, and maximize availability. It is expected to reach a headcount of approximately 40 by 2030, supporting the growth of the group's services business.
