AEON has adopted Fuji Oil's Anoza M for new products in its alternative chocolate series “Choco ka?” and will begin selling them at approximately 3,500 stores nationwide on 15 September.
Following last year, AEON has adopted Fuji Oil's Anoza M for new products in its cocoa-free alternative chocolate series “Choco ka?”. The new products will go on sale from 15 September at approximately 3,500 stores nationwide, including AEON, AEON Style and MAXVALU stores.
Anoza M, the ingredient adopted for the products, is an alternative cocoa ingredient made from peas and carob. It is introduced based on a press release and article explanations researched and reported by Foovo. The 3 products are Pistachio & Snack, Caramelized Almond and Cranberry Crunch, all offered at prices excluding tax. The rollout follows the initial product development using ChoViva and incorporates market trends in cocoa-free ingredients.
Product development is also expanding into block-type products as part of the wider rollout of products using ChoViva, developed by Planet A Foods. Planet A Foods produces more than 10,000 tonnes of ChoViva annually and entered into a long-term commercial partnership with Barry Callebaut in 2025, amid moves by major companies, including Nestlé, to enter the cocoa-free segment. This is expected to drive the expansion of applications for alternative cocoa ingredients, including Anoza M.
