The Japan-Saudi public-private joint ICT policy dialogue, hosted by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, was held on 1 September 2026 at the Riyadh Exhibition & Convention Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Asilla participated as the only startup among the companies representing Japan. An overview of the event, including its date, venue and participant composition, was presented.
From the perspective of technology used in real-world settings, Asilla presented its behavior-recognition AI technology, AI Security asilla, and examples of its real-world implementation in Japan. It also discussed next-generation technologies such as Vision Language Models (VLMs), which combine video and language, indicating their potential application to smart city projects under Vision 2030.
The dialogue was the first to be held under the public-private framework established pursuant to a memorandum of cooperation signed in 2019, and addressed how Japan's information and communications technology could contribute to the realization of Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia is advancing its digital transformation and positioning AI as a core technology, while practical expertise in field operations was identified as an issue.
Going forward, Asilla indicated that it will pursue business development in the Middle East based on local needs and policy trends, continue dialogue with local stakeholders, and apply its expertise in domestic real-world implementation to the region's digital transformation.
