The 2026 International Welding Show was held at Tokyo Big Sight, featuring new welding robot models and AI-enabled solutions. A range of demonstrations were presented, including DAIHEN CORPORATION's VIVACE, which combines a self-propelled AMR and collaborative robot, and Panasonic Connect's TX-1400, shown as a reference exhibit.
The four-day 2026 International Welding Show was held from 16 to 19 September 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, attracting 90,869 visitors. The event was held on the first floor of the West Exhibition Hall, where many visitors were seen listening attentively to exhibitors' explanations.
DAIHEN CORPORATION exhibited its self-propelled robot VIVACE, a system combining an autonomous mobile robot and a collaborative robot. A demonstration showed a single unit performing picking, transport, welding, grinding, inspection and storage. The company proposed operation of multiple processes with a single unit, including for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Other exhibits included the Welbee The Short Arc 350 welder, which achieves low spatter without a power supply, metal additive manufacturing equipment such as ArcBuilder 3D, and a range of welding robots from Panasonic Connect, which showed the TX-1400 as a reference exhibit. Proposals combining AI welding robot systems and welding power sources with the CRX series were also presented.
While highlighting the TX-1400's high precision and speed as a next-generation welding robot, the show also featured AI-enabled demonstrations, including technology that automatically determines welding locations. Visitors showed interest in the range of work solutions offered by combining robots and AI.
