Rika Miyako, who signed a contract with Stanley Electric, shot a personal-best-matching 65 with her newly introduced 1W and TRTL putter, finishing the tournament, including the final round, in 12th place.
As Stanley Electric sponsors Rika Miyako this season, Miyako made her first appearance in the tournament as a sponsor-affiliated professional and shot a personal-best-matching 65 in the final round. She showed consistency from the front nine, making 6 birdies, while an eagle on the third hole of the back nine was another highlight. Miyako had said she would work hard to aim for 7 under par, but in fact finished with a round of 65.
The 2 new clubs Miyako introduced during the tournament appear to have been a major factor. She changed her driver to Srixon’s 2026 model, the ZX i RKT MAX, and her putter to Odyssey’s TRTL, saying that stability, distance and control of the roll had improved from her first shots with them. The TRTL in particular received high marks for the feeling that the ball rolled “exactly as intended.” The club changes may have directly contributed to her good score.
On the third hole, she reached the green in 2 from the middle of the fairway and made an eagle, hitting a 3W from 233 yards out and sinking an eagle putt from 5 meters short of the hole. Miyako described the strong play on that hole as “a feeling I’ve almost never had before” and said the club changes had translated into results. She ultimately finished 12th at 9 under par, and her Mercedes-Benz ranking rose sharply from 61st before the tournament to 55th.
Next week’s Fujitsu Ladies offers a higher allocation of points as a 4-day tournament. Miyako indicated that she intends to stay focused on earning points from next week onward, with a view to securing her seed for the following season and beyond. She continued to wear the same Stanley orange apparel in the final round and completed the tournament with the team’s support behind her.
