A successful demonstration of locally producing US military vehicle repair parts in Japan by sending only the data was conducted alongside Valiant Shield 2026. MadeHere manufactured the parts, with the demonstration carried out in collaboration with Oshkosh Defense and MDMC, which provided the data.
Oshkosh Defense and MDMC announced on 12 August 2026 a demonstration of the manufacture and supply of repair parts for US military vehicles in Japan. Rather than transporting the parts themselves, the demonstration used a process in which approved data was used to manufacture them locally, with LVSR repair parts as the subject.
Manufacturing was handled by MadeHere, an accredited Japanese manufacturer. The data infrastructure used was the AdvMFG Hub Digital Sustainment Platform, which provided a system for storing and retrieving approved parts data, while Oshkosh Defense retained ownership of the intellectual property and provided the data.
Parts made to the same requirements were also manufactured at MDMC’s facility in Albany, Georgia, US, verifying whether identical-specification parts could be produced at 2 geographically separated locations. The collaboration was carried out with the cooperation of MDMC, MadeHere and Oshkosh Defense.
MDMC and MadeHere have partnered to advance manufacturing and sustainment in the Indo-Pacific region, and previously produced parts on site during Trident Warrior. In March 2026, they entered into a public-private partnership agreement, expanding the framework for data provision.
