moya presented the results of joint research with the Hazama Ando Technical Research Institute at a new product presentation, showing verification of a 99.99% reduction in airborne viruses using pure-water nanomist. It also reported superior humidification performance and reactions involving OH radicals.
moya announced the 2026 models moya Craft and the new moya Ultra 2.0 at Futako-Tamagawa Tsutaya Electrics, and released verification results from joint research with the Hazama Ando Technical Research Institute. Research leader Aoki Takahito (青木貴均) explained test results showing a 99.99% reduction in airborne viruses, as well as the humidification performance of pure-water nanomist and findings concerning OH radicals.
The test used Escherichia coli phage in a 12.96-cubic-metre test chamber. After moya Ultra was operated for 2 minutes to spray pure water, airborne viruses in the space were reported to have decreased by 99.99% after 120 minutes. The effect was verified using only pure-water nanomist, without chemicals. In a further comparative test of humidification performance, the increase in absolute humidity per unit of mist was approximately 56% higher, and humidification efficiency under the same conditions was considered superior to that of other companies' products.
The change in humidity after spraying peaked after approximately 3 to 5 minutes, and the increase in humidity was subsequently found to remain stable to a certain extent. Reactions involving OH radicals were measured 30 and 60 minutes after just 1 minute of spraying, and the findings were considered useful in clarifying the mechanism behind the reduction in viruses.
