Kumamoto Prefecture, JA Group Kumamoto and Kagome have joined forces to launch the “Kumamoto Veggie Activity Project” to increase consumption of locally produced vegetables and promote better health.
As a new initiative, Kumamoto Prefecture, JA Group Kumamoto and Kagome have signed a partnership agreement to promote consumption of locally produced agricultural products and better health. The project will focus on proposing original recipes and menus using locally produced vegetables and promoting local consumption of local produce.
As part of the project, tomato curry developed by a registered dietitian from the JA Group and taipien served by Sumibi Yakitori Tenmaya at Kumamoto Yatai Village are scheduled to be offered for tasting and sale, with 11 establishments participating. The original dishes will be available through 30 November.
As part of the Veggie Activity initiative, Kagome will introduce “Veggie Check,” developed jointly with a German company. The device estimates vegetable intake simply by placing a palm on a sensor and will be available at JA Group Kumamoto's direct-sales outlets.
