Following Iktos’s selection for JETRO’s Subsidy Program for Overseas Business Expansion Support and Related Initiatives, the company announced plans to further strengthen the provision of its AI drug discovery platform in Japan and collaboration with pharmaceutical companies. It also announced developments in its collaboration with 入交生命工学 and initiatives involving Nippon Shinyaku and Kissei Pharmaceutical.
Iktos, an AI drug discovery company, announced that it had been selected for JETRO’s publicly solicited Subsidy Program for Overseas Business Expansion Support and Related Initiatives (Inward Foreign Direct Investment Promotion Project). The company said it would use the opportunity to expand its AI drug discovery platform and strengthen partnerships in Japan, accelerating its business development in the Japanese market.
Following its selection, Iktos said it would further strengthen its collaboration with 入交生命工学. By integrating 入交生命工学’s peptide-mimetic technology with Iktos’s AI and robotics technologies, the companies aim to expand the druggability of target protein-protein interactions that have traditionally been difficult to address.
Recent developments in the Japanese market include the renewal of Iktos’s contract with Kissei Pharmaceutical. Nippon Shinyaku has expanded the resources available for Makya and announced plans to promote AI adoption among all medicinal chemists. An article contributed by Fuji Hideyoshi (藤秀義) was also published in MEDCHEM NEWS, a publication of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
Representative Fuji Hideyoshi (藤秀義) said that JETRO’s selection would “support the expansion of the company’s business foundation,” expressing the company’s intention to expand the value of its solutions in Japan and help provide medicines to patients.
Following its acquisition of Synsight, Iktos continues to advance its integrated AI and robotics platform using cell imaging and high-content screening.
