South Korea's LG CNS entered into a business partnership with Japan's KDDI to jointly pursue the Asia-Pacific AX and DX markets. The companies will expand their cooperation from enterprise AI services to robotic automation and smart cities.
LG CNS and KDDI entered into a business partnership on the 14th and indicated their intention to jointly develop opportunities in the AX and DX markets across the Asia-Pacific region. The companies will strengthen cooperation in the joint development of AI services, deployment of AI agents for local markets, robotic automation at industrial sites, and smart city initiatives.
The companies are considering the development of locally adapted AI agents centered on LG CNS's AgenticWorks platform, as well as the provision of integrated management services using PhysicalWorks, with AI, robotics and smart cities as the three core areas. In Southeast Asia's smart city market, they are exploring a business model that combines LG CNS's urban integrated control system with KDDI's communications infrastructure.
The companies will establish a working-level consultative body and have designated Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and China as the 5 priority target countries. They will define the division of roles across enterprise AI, robotic automation, smart cities, and communications and systems operations.
Comments from the heads of both companies emphasized their intention to create a digital ecosystem and generate tangible results in the AX market, demonstrating their aim to expand cooperation with local partners across the Asia-Pacific region.
LG CNS is accelerating investment in new businesses using IPO proceeds, and its cooperation with KDDI is viewed as the starting gun for its full-scale expansion into overseas AX markets.
