Brazil Nissin announced its new brand NA OUSADIA DO JAPÃO and Korean-style ramen Geki. Nationwide rollout will begin in late September, while a new plant will be built in Ponta Grossa, Paraná state, as part of efforts to strengthen its South American operations.
Brazil Nissin held a launch event for its new branded products at its São Paulo office, announcing two major new products: NA OUSADIA DO JAPÃO, which recreates Japanese flavors and comes in 4 varieties—teriyaki, chili tomato, dandan-style udon and Japanese curry-style udon—and the Korean-style ramen series “Geki.” Attendees also sampled the products and assessed their flavors.
President Takayuki Suzuki (鈴木隆之) explained that NISSIN operates 60 plants in 18 countries worldwide, and that the overseas business is expected to grow from approximately 30% of total business in 2020 to approximately 45% in 2025. He emphasized the particularly high proportion of overseas business in the Americas and the importance of Brazil.
The Brazilian business began in 1965 and became a wholly owned NISSIN subsidiary in 2015. The company plans to build a new plant in Ponta Grossa, Paraná state, as a base for expanding exports to South America and developing new products, with operations targeted to begin in early FY27.
One of the new brands, NA OUSADIA DO JAPÃO, will be available in 4 varieties: chili tomato and teriyaki ramen, plus dandan and Japanese curry udon. The products are intended to let consumers easily enjoy rich flavors at home. The other featured product is the Korean-style Geki ramen, offered in 3 spice levels: carbonara at level 1, spicy chicken at level 4 and extremely spicy chicken at level 15. Nationwide shipments are scheduled to begin in late September, and the company said it hopes to bring Japanese and Korean ramen culture to consumers across Brazil.
