Ten years have passed since KAMEI CORPORATION acquired the naming rights to Sendai Municipal Gymnasium, and the City of Sendai presented the company with a certificate of appreciation. The facility is scheduled to remain closed through 15 March 2027 for major renovation work.
KAMEI CORPORATION, which acquired the naming rights to Sendai Municipal Gymnasium and has used the name “KAMEI Arena Sendai,” received a certificate of appreciation from the City of Sendai to mark the 10th anniversary of the arrangement. The ceremony was held at Sendai City Hall, where Mayor Kori presented the certificate to the company's president, Kamei Akio (亀井 昭男).
The ceremony was held against the backdrop of KAMEI Arena Sendai having served for many years as a venue for sporting competitions and events.
KAMEI Arena Sendai is scheduled to remain closed through 15 March 2027 for major renovation work necessitated by aging infrastructure. The timing for the resumption of events and other use has not been determined.
