FBモーゲージ株式会社 introduced a new salary system, the "policy-rate-linked salary system," in April 2026 following the Bank of Japan's policy rate hike. The system is intended to create an environment in which employees take the initiative in learning about monetary policy and economic trends by reflecting changes in the policy rate in their salaries. Following its introduction, the system took effect from salaries paid in July, resulting in higher salaries.
An internal survey found that interest in finance and the economy had increased compared with before the system was introduced. The proportion of respondents who said they were "very interested" or "somewhat interested" in the policy rate rose from 66.7% to 100%, while 91.7% said the system would contribute to improving financial literacy.
Sales staff said they had felt the gap between rising prices and salaries, but that the system had enabled them to feel changes in their daily lives and the broader socioeconomic environment more directly. Administrative staff also said that, after receiving higher salaries, they had gained a stronger sense of how the policy rate affects customer service.
Going forward, the company plans to enhance internal study sessions as part of its employee development efforts, linking the system with education to promote financial literacy. The introduction of the system is positioned as an initiative aimed at establishing a culture in which employees learn about monetary policy as an issue relevant to them personally.
