The General Incorporated Association Japan Association of Disability Employment Promotion Service Providers, of which Espool Plus is a member, established guidelines for disability employment support services and published them on 1 October 2026. The guidelines are scheduled to take effect in April 2027.
Espool Plus is a subsidiary of the Espool Group that provides disability employment support services. The group joined the General Incorporated Association Japan Association of Disability Employment Promotion Service Providers (the Association) as a full member and participated in establishing these guidelines. The Association published the guidelines as industry self-regulation guidelines setting appropriate standards for disability employment support.
The guidelines primarily aim to improve the quality of employment by establishing jobs and work environments that reflect individuals’ preferences and characteristics, clarifying the roles and responsibilities of companies and support providers, providing support that contributes to career development, and strengthening areas including rights protection, safety management and consultation systems.
Against a backdrop of increases in the statutory employment rate and amendments to the Act on Employment Promotion, etc. of Persons with Disabilities, Espool Plus has pursued initiatives to employ people with disabilities, centered on farm-based employment, at a time when companies are being called on to improve the “quality” of employment. Work Happiness Farm has 63 facilities nationwide, is used by approximately 750 companies, and has provided employment for more than approximately 5,200 people with disabilities.
Ahead of the guidelines’ scheduled implementation in April 2027, the Espool Group plans to use them as standards for reviewing the structure of its own services and operating systems, and to strengthen initiatives in collaboration with companies and local communities to achieve higher-quality employment for people with disabilities.
