Following the disclosure of a critical PHP vulnerability, apps and services including those of Sukiya and Hama Sushi were suspended in stages. Store reservation functions were suspended and delivery was halted, with the timing of restoration expected to be announced later.
Zensho Holdings disclosed that, following the publication of vulnerability information concerning the programming language PHP, it had been suspending in stages from around 22:00 on the 21st the apps and services of Sukiya, Hama Sushi, Jolly Pasta and Big Boy.
At Hama Sushi, customers could no longer make in-store reservations through the app, and delivery orders were temporarily suspended. The services have already been restored, but the company plans to announce further developments once there is a clear outlook for restoration.
The measure was implemented as a preventive response to the PHP vulnerability, and the company plans to provide updates on restoration through its official website and other channels.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Japan Meteorological Agency, among others, were also reported to have temporarily suspended parts of their websites for similar vulnerability-related reasons, amid reports of a succession of temporary shutdowns affecting government-related websites.
