The event aims to promote food ingredients from Otofuke.
A food fair promoted by the town of Otofuke is being held at 13 employee cafeterias in government offices across the Tokyo metropolitan area, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. This year's event uses ingredients from Otofuke to showcase the appeal of the region.
The menu features 18 dishes made with Otofuke beans and pork. Sanko Marketing Foods, which regularly organizes fairs supporting food-producing regions, is operating the event under contract.
The dishes include options made with Pines pork and Otofuke soybean soy sauce, such as kenchin udon and mixed rice with soybeans and hijiki (¥900), as well as creamy pasta with minced beef and maitake mushrooms.
Some locations, including the Ministry of Agriculture's A-Fu Cafeteria, are also open to members of the public visiting the offices. Videos introducing Otofuke are being shown in the cafeterias, and beans are on display. Ikuta, who was responsible for the fair, said the team worked to create dishes that convey Otofuke's appeal.
