Revenue for the first half reached a record ¥36.6 billion and operating income ¥5.5 billion, driven by firm demand from data centers and the semiconductor industry. The full-year forecast was revised upward to revenue of ¥73.3 billion and operating income of ¥10.5 billion.
OPTEX GROUP announced its results for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 2026. Revenue rose substantially year on year to a record ¥36.6 billion, while operating income was approximately ¥5.5 billion and the operating margin approximately 15%. The increase was driven mainly by the expansion of high-margin products in the SS and IA businesses.
In the SS business, revenue increased in the security-related, automatic door-related, and social and environmental-related fields. In the IA business, demand for factory automation, inspection lighting, and industrial PCs was strong, and sales to the semiconductor, electrical, and electronic components industries grew.
For the full-year consolidated earnings forecast, the company expects revenue of ¥73.3 billion, operating income of ¥10.5 billion, and an operating margin of approximately 14.3%, factoring in the impact of the weaker yen and increased sales of high-value-added products. The company disclosed an upward revision on 31 July, with its foreign exchange assumptions from the third quarter onward set at ¥155 to the US dollar and ¥180 to the euro.
As part of its shareholder returns, the company announced a revision raising its annual dividend forecast from ¥65 to ¥76 per share. It plans to maintain a target payout ratio of 35% and a DOE of at least 3.5%, balancing growth investment with shareholder returns.
The company indicated that demand is expected to continue expanding, supported by the rollout of data center-related products across customers, stronger solution proposals through systems integrators in Europe and Asia, and sustained high levels of demand from data centers.
