ハイボット has been selected as one of the Top 15 companies in Free Electrons 2026, one of the world’s largest open innovation programs in the energy sector. Its advancement from the Top 30 to the Top 15 followed discussions and evaluations during Bootcamp Week in Lisbon, making it the only Japanese company to reach this stage.
Free Electrons brings together power and energy companies from around the world. The 2026 program includes six participating companies: CLP, EDP, E.ON, ESB, Hydro-Québec and Origin Energy. The program states that demonstration projects and commercial deals totaling more than US$23 million have been generated to date.
ハイボット is a physical AI company providing robotic inspection and maintenance solutions. Its three core products are Expliner-T, Float Arm and SQUID, which work with the HiBox platform. The company emphasizes a system in which AI analyzes field data to support defect detection and asset health assessments.
As part of the program’s next steps, the Top 15 companies will participate in on-site programs comprising the Master Module in London from 14 to 17 September 2026, hosted by E.ON, and the Grand Finale in Montreal from 16 to 20 November 2026, hosted by Hydro-Québec. These programs are expected to help advance the development of pilot projects and commercial partnerships.
