Byside has formed a business partnership with 株式会社MATCH POINT, an industry peer, to strengthen its M&A support services in the healthcare and long-term care sectors, and established the Healthcare Support Office to oversee transactions in the healthcare sector. The office was established effective 1 September 2026, and Taniguchi Shintaro (谷口慎太郎) will become its head.
The new organization will combine Byside’s buyer-focused matching capabilities with the practical expertise Taniguchi has developed in the healthcare and long-term care sectors. It will provide highly effective M&A support to medical institutions and long-term care operators facing a lack of successors.
In the healthcare and long-term care sectors, the lack of successors and population aging are progressing, and surveys have found that the number of closures, dissolutions and bankruptcies is increasing. Demand for M&A support to sustain regional healthcare and long-term care services is therefore growing.
The Healthcare Support Office will operate an integrated system for sourcing sale-side mandates and providing execution support, with Taniguchi using his many years of experience and specialized knowledge to strengthen these services.
Going forward, the office aims to revitalize and develop regional healthcare and long-term care services by improving the precision of its matching with the growth strategies of buyer companies.
