The Osaka Innovation Hub, renovated by Osaka City, has added new areas and functions as a space where entrepreneurs, researchers and others can gather and promote co-creation. It has created an environment that encourages encounters between people and ideas through an open entrance and spaces serving a range of purposes.
The Osaka Innovation Hub was established as a co-creation space where entrepreneurs, startups, investors, researchers and large companies gather to create new value. It was renovated under the concept of “Gather, Connect and Grow.”
The renovation focused on creating spaces where people can meet naturally, including an open entrance and interaction areas. The facility has expanded opportunities for interaction through events, technology promotion and matchmaking, and established mechanisms linking these activities to idea generation and co-creation.
As spaces for turning ideas into concrete outcomes, the facility provides workspaces, business meeting areas and consultation areas that can be used according to purpose. Its design combines physical space and digital tools to help visualize talent and technology and form networks.
The Osaka Innovation Hub’s spatial design and photographs and case studies of its various areas are introduced in detail on the Okamura Local Government Office Buildings case-study page. A PDF summarizing the key points of the case study has also been published.
