株式会社ペンタコン研究所 has launched a new research project, “Japan’s External Exposure Surface,” which monitors the status of publicly exposed surfaces at approximately 44,000 Japanese companies each month using only publicly available information. The first report was published in September 2026. The research covers the overall status of information exposed externally, including email authentication, CMSs and website certificates.
The research covers 43,987 Japanese companies and checks DNS records, the homepages of corporate websites and website certificates within the publicly accessible internet. It does not conduct intrusion testing or tests that place a load on systems. The first report will be published with comparisons against the results monitored in August 2026.
