Yamaha Motor posted record-high profit in its results for the fiscal year ending August 2026, and the share price reached a new all-time high since listing. The company has also announced its policy of maintaining the ¥50 dividend, attracting investor attention.
In the interim results and full-year outlook released in August 2026, Yamaha Motor indicated that revenue and profit are expected to rise substantially this fiscal year, led primarily by its motorcycle business. The share price rose well above its previous all-time high since listing, reaching ¥1,963 at the close on 25 August 2026. The most recent previous high was ¥1,617.5 in July 2024.
For the first half of 2026, revenue was ¥1.498 trillion, up 17.2% year on year, operating profit was ¥157.5 billion, up 88.6%, and net profit was ¥113.9 billion, up 114.7%, reaching new record levels. Growth in the motorcycle business drove overall performance, supported by improved shipment multiples in Vietnam and expansion in the Indian market.
At its second-quarter results announcement, the company revised its full-year forecast upward, projecting revenue of ¥2.9 trillion, operating profit of ¥260 billion and net profit of ¥170 billion. While the company is proceeding with the partial withdrawal from its off-road four-wheel vehicle business and reviewing the manufacturing model for ROVs, overall performance is expected to continue growing steadily.
The company is said to be maintaining its ¥50 dividend for the current fiscal year, further increasing investor attention to shareholder returns.
