中西製作所 announced a medium-term management plan covering fiscal years 2025–2027, setting targets of ¥42 billion in net sales and ¥2.8 billion in ordinary profit for the final year, the fiscal year ending March 2028. Ordinary profit for the first year, the fiscal year ending March 2026, is expected to reach ¥3.1 billion, exceeding the target. However, as this reflects a temporary improvement in the gross profit margin resulting from progress in leveling utilization rates, ordinary profit is projected at ¥2.5 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027. Based on this outlook, the company will retain the plan's targets and aim to achieve them again starting from the fiscal year ending March 2027.
The basic policy is to maintain the leading share of the school meal market while pursuing a long-term leading share in the hospital market, expand domestically in the prepared foods and food processing sectors, and launch full-scale expansion into overseas markets, while also exploring and entering adjacent fields. The company will also consider M&A and alliances, aiming to establish new earnings pillars under its next medium-term plan, covering fiscal years 2028–2030. Strengthening organizational capabilities through securing and developing human resources is another key strategic priority.
By sector, the company plans to promote external collaboration in the school meal sector, strengthen staffing structures in the foodservice sector, and develop new customers through differentiated businesses. In the prepared foods and food processing sectors, it will expand its product lineup and strengthen sales activities targeting vendors, while overseas it will consider establishing local subsidiaries and other measures. Planned sales by sector are ¥27.1 billion in school meals, ¥11.4 billion in foodservice, ¥2.5 billion in prepared foods and food processing, and ¥300 million overseas.
