Chugin Financial Group raised its consolidated earnings forecast for the April-September 2026 period, increasing interim net profit from the previously announced ¥20.7 billion to ¥29.7 billion, up 71%.
The revision reflects trading conducted to rebalance its securities portfolio amid firm equity markets and the Bank of Japan's policy rate hike, which is expected to drive upside in ordinary income.
In addition, funds investment income, including interest on loans and interest and dividends on securities, is expected to substantially exceed the initial forecast as domestic interest rates rise and the securities portfolio is rebalanced. This also contributed to the upward revision.
The full-year forecast for the following period is scheduled to be announced on 29 October 2026.
