Bridgestone announced the new BATTLAX ADVENTURE A42 tire for adventure bikes. Compared with the previous A41 model, it offers improved grip on wet roads, greater wear resistance and reduced noise, with the Japan launch scheduled for 1 February 2027. The global rollout is expected to begin on 1 January 2027.
The A42 uses newly designed compounds that differ between the front and rear. A polymer that improves road-following performance is used at the front, while a polymer that improves wear resistance is used at the rear. Bridgestone aims to improve grip and extend service life by revisiting the balance of silica and carbon in the compound. The tread design has also been renewed, with pulse grooves to improve water evacuation and provide a stronger sense of contact and control in wet conditions.
According to official data, the rear tire’s acceleration slip rate on wet roads is 14% lower than that of the A41, while wear resistance has improved by 18% at the front and 25% at the rear. The company has also announced that optimizing the groove layout reduces riding noise by an average of 15%. The initial 2027 launch will comprise 6 sizes in total, 3 front and 3 rear, with the range planned to expand to 9 sizes in 2028.
