U.S.-based ITOCHU Building Products Holdings has adopted the AI recruiting platform Blucor. It conducted approximately 500 initial interviews in 2 months, significantly reducing the average number of days from application to offer notification.
Blucor, Inc. announced that it had begun providing its AI recruiting platform Blucor to IBP, a subsidiary of Itochu Corporation. IBP plans to expand implementation to Master-Halco, Inc. and US Premier Tube Mills LLC, establishing a system to support the recruitment of field workers across the companies using AI.
As key results following implementation, the average number of days from application to offer notification was reduced by 85.4% between June and July 2026, while the number of days during the probationary period was reduced from 44.4 to 6.5. In addition, AI conducted approximately 500 initial interviews over 2 months, with candidates receiving AI-powered telephone interviews.
The AI interviews support more than 50 languages. The system contacts applicants by telephone and SMS and conducts initial interviews, while final decisions continue to be made by human recruiters as before. Some processes, including contacting applicants, scheduling interviews and preparing evaluation reports, have been automated.
IBP plans to roll out Blucor to other subsidiaries and gradually expand the number of locations using it. Blucor aims to improve the efficiency and quality of local recruitment, with a view to expanding to Japanese companies with recruitment operations worldwide, including in ASEAN and Europe.
