Akumos is an independent systems integrator engaged in SI and software development for public-sector organisations, fire and disaster prevention services, GIS and other businesses. In 2026, it made Systems Service a subsidiary, expanding its customer base in the financial sector.
The Akumos Group consists of a parent company and 5 consolidated subsidiaries, providing one-stop services from planning and development through infrastructure construction, operations and maintenance to government agencies, local authorities, manufacturers, financial institutions and medical institutions. Systems Service became a subsidiary in January 2026 and was absorbed through a merger in October of the same year, expanding the group's customer base in the financial sector.
The business is divided into 3 segments: IT solutions, IT infrastructure and IT services. For the fiscal year ended June 2026, the sales mix was approximately 63.9% for IT solutions, 17.8% for IT infrastructure and 18.4% for IT services, with IT solutions positioned as the core business.
Key customers include the Ibaraki Prefectural Government, municipalities in the prefecture, chambers of commerce, JAXA and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. The group also does business with major private-sector companies and medical institutions, including Hitachi Construction Machinery, Hitachi, Fujitsu, NTT East, KDDI and NEC. Many customers have long-standing relationships with the group, which is considered to have a stable customer base.
The IT solutions business accounts for approximately 60% of the total, with SI and software development contributing approximately 74% and fire and disaster prevention solutions and GIS solutions accounting for approximately 26%. Fire and disaster prevention solutions are provided mainly through the SYMPROBUS F Series to municipal fire departments, and systems tend to be renewed over extended periods after implementation. The GIS business develops engines, including a forestry ICT platform, and supports the use of map information.
