原信, ナルス and フレッセイ, which operate under Niigata-based アクシアルリテイリング, achieved a 4.1% operating margin for the fiscal year ending March 2026. Behind this performance are 46 years of steady improvement initiatives centered on sharing frontline expertise.
For the fiscal year ending March 2026, revenue was ¥295.5 billion, operating profit was ¥12.185 billion and the operating margin reached 4.1%. This was a high level among major food supermarkets, exceeding the margins reported for the same period by U.S.M.H, one of the industry's largest operators, at 0.5%, Life Corporation at 3.0% and Belc at 4.3%.
Since 原信 began its QC circle activities in 1980, it has accumulated improvements over 46 years, which is believed to have formed the foundation supporting its profitability. Even as material, labor and logistics costs have continued to rise, the company has steadily increased operating profit alongside revenue growth.
The group's revenue has continued to increase slightly over time, from ¥11.779 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2024 to ¥12.06 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2025 and ¥12.185 billion in the fiscal year ending March 2026. In addition to factors such as product strength, store development and digital transformation (DX), the system for sharing frontline improvements across the organization is reported to have contributed to higher profitability.
