Japan Post Bank announced a capital and business alliance with susten Capital Management to strengthen its asset-building services. Japan Post Bank will acquire a 22% stake in susten and plans to offer NISA-based discretionary investment management services through its passbook app.
Japan Post Bank has entered into a capital and business alliance with susten Capital Management, an emerging asset management company, acquiring shares representing 22% of the company's voting rights. Through the alliance, Japan Post Bank aims to strengthen its asset-building services.
As part of the alliance, the companies plan to offer susten's discretionary investment management services and mutual funds using NISA, Japan's tax-exempt investment scheme, through the Japan Post Bank passbook app. Japan Post Bank will identify customers' asset-building needs and consider developing new investment services.
As of the end of March 2026, the Japan Post Bank passbook app had been adopted for more than 16.62 million accounts. The aim is to leverage its broad customer base to expand the use of asset management services.
Looking ahead, Japan Post Bank is expected to establish a framework to support individual customers' asset building through expanded services and the development of investment products under the alliance.
