Shimane Bank announced a downward revision to its full-year consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, with a final loss of ¥5.98 billion expected against a backdrop of valuation losses on approximately ¥60 billion of securities.
Shimane Bank revised its full-year consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, changing both its ordinary profit and net income forecasts from profits to losses. Although ordinary revenue was revised upward from the previous forecast, the bank expects to record a securities sale loss of approximately ¥6.5 billion, resulting in an expected final loss of approximately ¥5.98 billion.
The primary cause of the shift to a loss is said to be the loss on the sale of securities carrying approximately ¥60 billion in valuation losses. As a result, ordinary profit and net income changed from the previous profit forecasts to losses.
Shimane Bank also announced a notice regarding the revision to its earnings forecast on the same day, and additional information in its upcoming results announcement is expected to attract attention. The latest revision assumes the recognition of valuation losses and sale losses on financial instruments.
Some market participants have pointed to the possibility that the expected loss was affected by the company's financial structure and asset reallocation, but the market is awaiting formal disclosures regarding the outlook.
