Naoki Momota (百田尚樹), leader of the Conservative Party of Japan and a writer, said on X on 2 November 2026 that more people are broadcasting large amounts of false information on social media to gain followers and turn them into business opportunities.
In his own post, Naoki Momota (百田尚樹) said that the number of people who dress up information with false trappings, spread it on social media, gain supporters and turn them into business opportunities has recently been increasing.
Naoki Momota (百田尚樹) claimed that “sensible people laugh it off, but some percentage of people who know little about the world are easily deceived,” explaining that fraudsters target such vulnerable people from the outset.
The post conveyed criticism of the fraudulent dissemination of information targeting people who know little about the world, as well as an image of fraudsters who do not care about being criticised.
