As part of Phase 3 of the Strategic Innovation Creation Program, Pasona Group will conduct robot pilot demonstrations at tourism facilities on Awaji Island from 15 October.
Pasona Group announced that it will conduct pilot demonstrations using robots at tourism facilities and on travel tours in Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture, from 15 October (Thursday) to 1 November (Sunday), in line with the Cabinet Office's Phase 3 SIP initiative, "Development of foundational technologies and rules for expanding human-robot collaborative robotics." The demonstrations are intended to verify the potential for wider adoption by establishing operating methods and business models for on-site use. Participating companies include Panasonic Holdings, SEC, Sharp and Living Robot.
As part of the pilot's specific operations, at the Awaji Island anime park Nijigen no Mori, a robot concierge combining multilingual guidance and nighttime security will be tested using Panasonic's Hacobo robot.
At CRAFT CIRCUS, operations involving robot staff providing guidance and customer service to visitors will be tested by combining Sharp's RoBoHoN robot, SEC's robot and Pasona Group's avatar work service. In addition, in collaboration with wellness tourism, remote support will also be tested, with specialists in remote locations operating Living Robot's MechatroWeGo to provide food-related advice.
