Business Engineering has announced GLASIAOUS OCR, an AI-OCR solution supporting multiple languages and local tax regimes. The service is scheduled to launch at the end of September 2026 and will significantly automate invoice digitisation and journal-entry input.
On 24 August 2026, Business Engineering announced GLASIAOUS OCR, an AI-OCR solution that provides end-to-end support from reading source documents through to data integration with core systems. By supporting multiple languages and automatically configuring local tax regimes, the solution aims to reduce the accounting workload of companies with overseas operations. The service is scheduled to launch at the end of September of the same year, with two plans available: the cloud-based Standard plan and the Pro plan designed for ERP integration.
GLASIAOUS OCR features high-accuracy recognition and the generation of proposed journal entries, and is expected to reduce invoice data-entry time to one-third. Recognition accuracy is expected to be 90%–95%, with support for tax categories and rates in different countries, including VAT, other value-added taxes and withholding tax. In addition, when multiple invoices are converted into a single PDF, the AI separates and posts them on an invoice-by-invoice basis, an approach expected to reduce total bookkeeping time by 60%–70%.
In addition to CSV and Excel, data can be supplied directly via API to core systems such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba. The solution is also designed to be deployed while retaining an existing ERP system. Its security controls comply with ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018, supporting the handling of highly confidential accounting data.
Usage-based pricing for the cloud-based Standard plan starts at ¥40 per page, while pricing for the Pro plan, designed for ERP integration, starts at ¥250 per page. Business Engineering plans to continue investing in AI technology and create an environment in which accounting departments can focus on higher-value activities, including data analysis and decision-making support.
