世界のベスト rose to the top of the August purchase-value rankings, while a Nikkei 225-linked fund fell in the rankings. 成長戦略フォーカス・ジャパン also moved up among domestic equity funds, and interest in foreign equity funds is rising again.
This review of August trends is based on the best-selling mutual fund rankings. In SMBC Nikko Securities’ purchase-value rankings, 世界のベスト (monthly distribution) rose to the top, while Nikkei 225 No-Load Open fell to 7th place.
Among domestic equity funds, 成長戦略フォーカス・ジャパン moved up the rankings, with newer funds, including one established on 29 May 2026, accounting for much of the list. One factor cited for the decline in the rankings of Nikkei 225-linked index funds is the concentration of funds in certain semiconductor and AI-related stocks.
世界のベスト is valued as a specific global equity portfolio, with a policy of selecting stocks based on dividends, growth and valuation. 半導体革命 has helped revive interest in foreign equity active funds, supported by strong earnings from NVIDIA and other factors.
After the Nikkei average posted double-digit gains from April through July, its 3.0% rise in August amounted to only a modest rebound. Concerns about rising long-term interest rates have been cited as a factor restraining a broad-based rise in domestic equities.
