Trend Micro announced the Japan Cyber Resilience Initiative, a support program for the Japanese market in response to the surge in cyberattacks, including the provision of product-use licenses worth up to ¥10 billion.
On 19 October, Trend Micro announced the Japan Cyber Resilience Initiative, a planned cyber-resilience support program for Japan that provides emergency support to businesses facing a series of cyberattacks. The initiative includes a scam-protection app provided free of charge to individuals, security services provided free of charge to small and medium-sized businesses, and product-use licenses worth up to ¥10 billion for businesses.
For businesses, TrendAI Flex license credits will be provided to support the deployment of TrendAI Vision One, the expansion of its functionality and the use of additional features. The initiative is intended to promote the modernization of existing environments and strengthen the protection of critical systems. No cap will be imposed on the credits, which are intended to be used according to the circumstances of each organization.
The support will be provided in the form of license credits rather than cash payments. Details of the eligibility requirements, allocation and services available will be announced in stages. Forward-deployed engineers and technical specialists will work directly with eligible organizations to help identify risk factors, conduct gap analyses and accelerate deployment.
Individuals will receive 90 days of free access to the smartphone scam-protection app Scam Buster. Small and medium-sized businesses will be offered a 60-day free trial of Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Services. In addition, Trend Micro plans to provide scam detection on LINE by the end of the year in collaboration with LINE CRM partners.
