The top leadership of the Kudo-kai, an organized crime group under the jurisdiction of the Fukuoka Prefectural Police, is reported to have changed, with chairman Goto Yasushi (後藤 靖), the group’s No. 2, believed to have taken office as the 6th chairman. The succession ceremony is said to have been held in Fukuoka Prefecture, and developments are being closely monitored.
An interview with investigative sources revealed that defendant Tagami Fumio (田上 不美夫), the 5th chairman of the designated organized crime group Kudo-kai, had stepped aside and that chairman Goto Yasushi (後藤 靖) had taken office as the 6th chairman. The succession ceremony was held in Fukuoka Prefecture, and the prefectural police are closely monitoring developments.
Defendant Tagami has remained in detention since his arrest in the 2014 crackdown targeting the group’s leadership. It is believed that the change to chairman Goto Yasushi (後藤 靖) was decided in order to maintain the organization. Tagami’s future status remains unclear.
The ceremony venue is said to have been an office affiliated with the designated organized crime group Taishu-kai in Fukuchi. Information is being collected and analyzed on whether the chairman’s post and representative position will change.
