SIIX will invest in Taiwanese auto parts maker 101 Auto Tech, with the aim of expanding sales of automotive aftermarket parts in the Japanese market. The investment amount is undisclosed, and SIIX's Taiwanese subsidiary will acquire a partial stake.
SIIX, Taiwan's largest EMS provider, plans to invest in 101 Auto Tech, which is backed by 16 Taiwanese companies, including auto parts makers. The investment amount is undisclosed, and Taiwan SIIX International will acquire a partial stake in 101 Auto Tech.
Through the investment, SIIX aims to establish a sales channel in Japan for 101 Auto Tech's aftermarket parts, including vehicle maintenance parts. SIIX estimates the Japanese auto parts market at approximately ¥3 trillion, with maintenance parts accounting for about ¥1.5 trillion.
101 Auto Tech was established in July with investment from 16 companies, including Taiwan's Hushan Industrial and Kairui Optoelectronics. It is developing a structure to operate a B2B platform for overseas buyers and an aftermarket business in the United States, with the aim of supporting the businesses of its investing companies.
To accelerate its expansion in the Japanese market, SIIX plans to leverage its North American distribution network and brand strength, and plans to exhibit at IAAE in March 2027.
The move is reportedly intended to strengthen Japanese companies' parts supply networks through SIIX and expand channels for supplying Japanese auto parts to the Japanese market. This is expected to expand domestic sales of maintenance parts.
