HP Japan announced that 日宣印刷 has adopted the HP PageWide Advantage 2200 inkjet digital web press. This is the product’s first adoption in Japan, and 日宣印刷 is introducing it to strengthen its production system for monthly periodical booklets, its core business.
While continuing to use its existing offset printing equipment, 日宣印刷 is developing a production system that combines digital printing, enabling it to accommodate the diversification of printed materials and small-lot production. The introduction is intended to optimize the production process for monthly periodical booklets, improve productivity and provide consistently high-quality printed pages.
Goto Minoru (後藤稔), President and Representative Director of 日宣印刷, described building a production system that can respond flexibly to market needs while maintaining stable, high-quality production of monthly periodical booklets as a key priority. He said the company decided to introduce the press after preliminary testing confirmed its print quality and operational stability, and after evaluating the productivity enabled by high-speed printing and its ability to handle a wide range of media.
The HP PageWide Advantage 2200 is a high-speed press suited to a wide range of applications, including publishing, direct mail and commercial printing. It is expected to help address challenges such as labor shortages, shorter lead times and smaller production lots.
