Yoho Brewing will offer an opening commemorative beer limited to Izumisano, Osaka, as a hometown tax donation return gift, and has also begun selling it at the brewery, with the donation amount provided by third parties as the backdrop. The first offering is a lager-style beer, available as a set of 350 ml cans.
Yoho Brewing will develop and sell a craft beer limited to Izumisano, Osaka, under the name "Yonayona Beer Rise Opening Commemorative Craft Beer," based at its new brewery in the city. In addition to offering it as a hometown tax donation return gift, the company will sell it at the brewery. The first offering will be a lager-style canned beer.
The hometown tax donation return gift is a set of 350 ml cans, and Izumisano began accepting applications at the end of September. The brewery will also serve the beer by the glass and plans to sell cans for ¥517 from the 16th. Both offerings are limited in quantity.
Known as an Italian pilsner, this beer is characterized by a floral aroma and mild bitterness. Yoho has traditionally used large quantities of top-fermenting ale yeast, but this beer was fermented from the bottom using lager yeast. The Izumisano brewery makes use of characteristics distinct from those of the company's facilities in its home prefecture of Nagano.
Izumisano ranked first nationwide in hometown tax donations in fiscal 2025 and attracted a new brewery to Rinku Town, across from Kansai International Airport, which opened in July. The construction costs are to be funded with donations. The cumulative amount received over the five years from fiscal 2021 was ¥6.5 billion, and the shortfall is expected to reach the required amount in fiscal 2028, with Yoho expected to advance the shortfall.
