The system will be tested to determine whether AI can autonomously cross-check drawings against design standards, detect deficiencies, and make proposals to designers.
ABEJA,Inc. and 新晃工業 will jointly begin verifying an AI-powered automated drawing review system designed to improve the design quality of central air-conditioning units. The initiative advances their previous work toward practical design support based on collaboration between AI and people.
The system autonomously cross-checks and verifies design drawings prepared by designers against design standards that have been converted into data in advance. It detects inconsistencies with specified values and design rules, then proposes areas for correction. A key feature is that verification is completed simply by uploading the design drawings.
The verification adopts a Human-in-the-Loop approach based on collaboration between people and AI. Designers evaluate and provide feedback on the AI's proposals, and that knowledge is accumulated by the AI to improve the accuracy of drawing reviews.
Going forward, the companies will further advance verification within the actual design process, with the aim of strengthening warning functions and enabling the autonomous updating of design knowledge. They have also outlined plans to expand the system into a platform for the autonomous, continuous circulation of sustainable design knowledge.
