As the first product in the new Genmai Manma series, PIGEON CORPORATION's Genmai Manma: Sono-mama Plain will launch on 7 September 2026. It is intended for babies from around 7 months of age and is made with germinated rice without sugar, salt or any of the 28 designated allergens, taking into account the needs of babies during the weaning-food stage.
The newly launched Genmai Manma: Sono-mama Plain was announced as a product in a weaning-food series made with germinated rice from FANCL. It is intended for babies from around 7 months of age and is described as having a light, airy texture that melts gently in the mouth, together with the characteristic fragrance and natural sweetness of germinated rice.
The product contains no sugar or salt and is formulated without ingredients containing any of the 28 designated allergens. It is also designed for situations when preparing weaning food is difficult and for meals away from home. The gentle sweetness of germinated rice and the texture in the mouth are highlighted.
Suggested ways to eat it include eating it in stick form or as-is as a snack, or placing it in a bowl and adding hot water to turn it into a simple porridge. The product is intended to reduce the time required to prepare weaning food at home and make meals easier to carry when travelling.
Alongside the product information, other products in the series, including Osakana and Sonohoka, are also introduced, indicating plans to expand the range under the same concept.
