Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. will exhibit an industrial V2H system at Bousai Motor Show 2026, to be held on 25 October 2026 at Tokyo Rinkai Disaster Prevention Park, showcasing the use of EVs as a mobile power source during disasters. The demonstration will feature the supply of three-phase power and the use of an enhanced inverter.
Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. will exhibit at Bousai Motor Show 2026. At the venue, a power supply demonstration will use electricity stored in an EV to operate a commercial refrigerator and kitchen appliances, showcasing the effectiveness of securing power during outages. The bidirectional charger used in the demonstration is a three-phase 10kW industrial V2X bidirectional charger launched in July 2026, and will be installed on a temporary basis for exhibition purposes.
Unlike residential V2H systems, industrial V2H supports the operation of large equipment by backing up three-phase power. Its enhanced inverter can operate single-phase and three-phase equipment simultaneously, with potential applications including air conditioning in evacuation centres, protecting refrigerated and frozen food in kitchens, and operating water pumps in apartment buildings.
EXSA, the new technology, is a parallel islanded-operation function that aggregates multiple EVs to provide high power. It is designed to achieve balanced synchronised operation simply by connecting the AC power output terminals. Even when the output per vehicle is limited to approximately 5-10kW, multiple vehicles can provide a high-capacity power supply.
The exhibition outline states that the event may be subject to change due to weather and other circumstances. Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. has indicated that it aims to contribute to stronger social infrastructure resilience and the realisation of a sustainable energy society through this product.
